Aloha from Kaua’i!
Talk about hit the ground running! Our recent trip to the mainland was a success and it was great to see all our friends and family. We were in 5 states in seven weeks, was a busy time indeed.
We left for the mainland May 7th and arrived in Oklahoma for our nephew’s graduation from high school. We ministered at two churches in Oklahoma while we were there in the midst of dodging tornadoes and thunder storms.
Our first ministry opportunity was at Oak Chapel Church near Southwest City, Missouri, just across the state line into Oklahoma. It was a great time. There were three other churches who brought their congregations to Oak Chapel for the service. I saw people I hadn’t seen in almost 40 years, kids that I grown up with who were part of Oak Chapel when my dad was it’s pastor. Special thanks to Pastor Darren & Linda Robbins for the warm homecoming, fellowship and great food after the service.
The next few days after this service we joined our family at Lake Tenkiller near Cookson Hills, Oklahoma for a family reunion. Was very relaxing at the lake even though it was flooded. We were threatened by thunderstorms but God kept us though it all.
The following Sunday we ministered at Wagoner Church of God of Prophecy in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Pastor Danny & Dawn Waite are great friends I have know for almost 25 years. Awesome presence of God as we ministered and the gifts of the spirit flowing as we shared about our ministry here in Hawaii. Thank you to Pastor Danny & Dawn for the great time of ministry and fellowship and the new friends we made at Wagoner.
We spent the last few days in Oklahoma in Tulsa with my mom and step-dad, Betty and Ron Moon. The night before we were to fly to Texas for our next leg in our trip, severe thunderstorms rolled though the Tulsa area cancelling our flight for the next morning. At the time we were supposed to leave the next day there were 3 tornadoes around the Tulsa airport. To God be the glory for His mercy, grace and protection. Our airline rescheduled our flights for the next day and we made our way to Texas. They even graciously changed the flight for going to Louisiana, free of charge! Praise God!!!
Texas was another grand adventure. When we left Kauai it was 77 degrees. Upper 60’s for the first week in Oklahoma and then Aloha Texas weather!!! 107 upon arriving in Harlingen. Thanking God the whole time for air conditioning.
We ministered 5 times in 3 churches while in South Texas. Our first Sunday back at Abundant Grace Community Church (our home church) we ministered in Children’s Church. We taught them a hula and brought quiet seat prizes from Hawaii in the form of candy leis. Pastor Joanna gave us the Tuesday Night “Fire in the Valley” prayer meeting for worship & intercession. Powerful move of God on Tuesday night. We ministered on Wednesday night at AGCC, sharing about our ministry here in Hawaii.
We ministered the following Sunday morning, June 2, at ET Church in San Juan, Texas with Pastors Robert & Liz Sanchez. It had been a while since I had ministered in a Spanish speaking church, Pastor Robert was my interpreter. The spirit of God moved and people were called forward for healing. There were several words of knowledge that were given and people were visibly touched by the spirit of God. We prayed for children, teens and adults. God is good!!
That Sunday evening we ministered at New Hope in Pharr, Texas with Pastor Frank Llanas. Another Spanish speaking service where Pastor Frank was my interpreter. The presence of God was so strong and sweet people were weeping. We again shared about our ministry here in Hawaii and the things we have seen God do in the last year and a half. Pastor Frank invited people up for prayer at the end of the service and the whole church responded to the call. We prayed over everyone, delivered words of knowledge and personal prophecies. Pastor Frank gave us a prophetic word before service was over.
We met a couple of our friends, Mark Baker and Blake Insel, at Whataburger in Edinburg after the service and while talking story with them God began to move on them and they gave us two more prophetic words as well as words of instruction for our next phase of ministry here in Hawaii.
The following Wednesday we got to be in the Youth Service with Pastor Simeon & Lisa Finley at Abundant Grace. Most of the youth now are kids we watched grow up and ministered to in Children’s Church.
We caught our flight to Louisiana to visit with our family and friends there for a couple weeks. We had a good time. After our time there we finished out our trip in Atlanta, Georgia for the Primerica International Convention. Over 50,000 people attended the convention at the Mercedes Benz Arena. It was a quick three days in Atlanta before heading home for Kauai.
We arrived home on Sunday night, June 23, weary from a wonderful trip.
Since we have been home we are now partnered with another ministry, Reflame Ministries International with Pastor Cathy Simao. God is really blessing this new work. The presence of God is so strong in every service with the gifts of the spirit flowing in each service. We are looking forward to seeing what God is doing with us and Reflame Ministries. More ministry connections are being made because of Pastor Cathy which we are very thankful for.
